Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-06-12 · Version 2026-06-12 · Alpine Lake Systems LLC

Cool Parent Certified is operated by Alpine Lake Systems LLC. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it. It works alongside our Terms of Use. We keep it deliberately minimal — we collect little, and we never put anything on your child's devices.

Sign-in

You sign in with a Google account. From Google we receive a stable identifier ("sub"), your email address, and your display name. We store this so we can attach your profile to your account and show your name. We do not request any other Google data — no Gmail, Drive, or contacts.

Your handle

The username you choose is public: it is how other parents find and add you. Choose something you're comfortable being seen by other users.

Your attestation

When you take the pledge to get certified, we keep a durable record of it: the version of the pledge, the items you attested to, the date and time you attested (as captured by your browser and by our server), and the IP address and browser user-agent on that request. We retain this record for as long as your account exists and, afterward, only as long as needed to evidence the attestation or to meet a legal obligation.

Your friends list

We store the handles of the parents you add so we can show you their certified status. To people who add you, we show your handle, display name, and whether you are certified (and when). We never show your email address to other users.

Cookies

We set a single signed session cookie ("coolparent.auth") so you stay signed in across visits; it expires after 30 days of inactivity. During sign-in, Google's sign-in library may briefly set its own cookie to protect the request. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records request logs (IP, timestamp, path) which we retain for a short period for operational and abuse-prevention purposes.

What we don't do

We don't run ads, we don't sell or share your data, and we place nothing on your child's devices. There is no tracking of your child here — the pledge is about what you commit to as a parent.

Third parties

We use Google for authentication and Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage. Both process data on our behalf under their respective terms.

Deleting your data

Email hello@alpinelake.systems from your account's email address and we'll remove your profile, friend connections, and handle. We may retain the minimal attestation record described above where we have a legal reason to do so.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will revise the version and effective date above.
